The visit to our customer The Hazeley Academy was required as the customer had requested an annual service be conducted on their machine. The service was conducted by our highly experience laser service engineer ‘Gavin Edwards’. The service visit included: –

Upon arrival at The Hazeley Academy the machine was visually inspected. The laser machine was heavily comtaminated with ply and MDF residue on the internal chassis area.
The machine was cleaned of all the residue and discarded components at the bottom of the unit. It is advised to regular clean the underside of the machine as build of discarded components is a potential fire risk from the laser beam being defocused and moving slowly over these parts when cutting material above.
The rest of the service was carried with little to no issues. The items carried out were as below: –
- Electrical Systems – Health Check, Fit & Function
- Safety Interlocks & Emergency Stop- Health Check, Fit & Function
- Air Assist Pump – Function
- Chiller Check – Health Check, Fit & Function
- Chiller Drain, Flush and Water Replacement
- Full Bed Leveling – Adjustment and Check
- Inspect, Clean and Lubricate all Linear/Guide Rails
- Tension Check on All Drive Belts
- Mirror Inspection & Clean
- Lens Inspection & Clean
- Full Laser Alignment Check
- Laser Tube Health Check
- Check overall machine function by Test Cutting Customer Materials
The laser power was measured at the exit aperture of the laser nozzle and was shown to be reading 63.4w @22mA 77% power. This meant that the laser tube was still in good condition.
