Northampton Laser Machine Service, Alpha CNC ATS 1390 – 100 watt – ProBox Systems Ltd
A visit to our customer, ProBox Systems Ltd was requested by the customer as the annual laser service of their Chinese flatbed laser cutting machine was due, we highly recommend an annual laser service for all our customers, so to keep their machine performing and to prevent any unwanted failures. The laser service was conducted by our highly experience laser machine service engineer ‘Gavin Edwards’. The service visit included: –
Alpha CNC ATS 1390 – 100 Watt
From our previous visit to ProBox Systems Ltd, the initial inspection had found that there was no safety interlock on the main door lid, the customer had put in place a procedure to enforce the closure of the door before production commenced.
The initial inspection on this visit did not highlight any more major issues with the machine, so the laser service of the flatbed machine was started.
All mirrors and the main focusing lens were removed and cleaned. The main focusing lens was contaminated but was able to be cleaned. A slight blemish remained on the lens, but it was deemed to not be effecting the cutting or engraving performance so was not replaced on this occasion. It was recommended to the customer to ensure that the air line is on and flowing correctly on both laser cutting and laser engraving jobs, to protect the lens from debris and will enable the lens to last.

The remaining items on the laser service were carried out on the machine without issues, including: –
- Inspected and Cleaned the laser nozzle and Red Diode Pointer
- Water Cooling Chiller Inspection, Clean, Drain & Refill
- Inspect, Clean and Lubricate all Linear/Guide Rails
- Checked all Belts and Pulleys for wear and tension
- Check the Bed Level
- Electronics Inspection
- Checked field calibration and step length on X & Y axis
- Safety Interlocks Inspection & Test
The laser alignment was tested and adjusted to be optimum for this machine type. The laser power was then measured from the exit aperture of the nozzle. The laser power was shown to measure 89w @25mA 80%.
After the laser machine service was concluded, the machine was tested by running multiple test to verify functionality and performance. The customer was happy with the results of the service.

Any of the consumable items mentioned above, Lens, Mirrors, Laser tubes, Power supplies are all available and can be bought separately in our online shop.
