Laser Tube Replacement near Milton Keynes – OMTech Max750 80W – Resplendant Aurora
The visit to our customer Resplendent Aurora, was requesting a laser tube replacement on their OMTech Max 750 80 watt flatbed laser marker. The reported issue was that the laser machine was not cutting or marking as previously. The laser tube replacement was conducted by our highly experience service engineer ‘Gavin Edwards’.

Upon arrival at Resplendent Aurora the flatbed machine was visually inspected. The laser tube was initially tested and was shown to not be engraving as per normal. The laser tube was tested at the exit aperture of the laser tube and was found to be producing a ‘halo’ style beam as opposed to the optimum Gaussian profile.
The laser was removed and replaced with a Reci W2 Laser Tube. As with every laser tube replacement it is advised to check and realign the entire system, as the location and angle of the laser beam is going to be different for every laser tube produced.
The laser machine was realigned, all mirrors were checked and cleaned. The lens had a large section of the protective coating missing. Due to the difference is lens diameter to standard flatbed machines, we didn’t have lens on hand to replace.
The laser machine was tested at the exit aperture of the laser nozzle to define the power loss associated with the damaged lens. Without the focusing lens insitu the laser power was shown to be 90.2w @75% power. When the lens was reinstalled into the nozzle, the laser power was measured again and was shown to be 70.3w @75%. It was recommended to the customer that they could still continue using the machine with the damaged lens, but that it would be advisable to get a replacement as soon as possible.
For the remainder of the laser service the OMtech machine was given a health check and all items of our standard service callout was completed
The customer ran a number of test jobs on the machine, and was happy with the repair.
