Laser Service near Reading, Thinklaser Lightblade’s 2 x 6090 80 watts – Gillette
A visit to our customer, Gillette® R&D Facility near Reading UK, was required as the customer had requested their annual service on their two lightblade machines, which we would recommend for all our customers. The laser service was conducted by our highly experienced service engineer ‘Gavin Edwards’. The service visit included: –
Thinklaser Lightblade 1st 6090 80 watt
Upon arrival at Gillette® the first 6090 machine was visually inspected. The machine was visually in good condition.

The customer informed us that the unit had not been used for a while as the extraction system had failed its LEV testing.

The Bofa AD Oracle iQ extraction unit was inspected and was found that the Main board had been replaced by the customer in an attempt to fix an issue with the unit. The extraction unit, when powered on, showed 3 red arrow buttons and was beeping in intervals of 5 times repeatable every minute. The old board was still available and was reinstalled to ascertain the original fault. An Error code of #64. The new board was refitted and a contact name for BOFA was given for further contact and to send downloaded files from extractor for further investigation. Since the visit BOFA emailed the customer a new program to upload to the machine. This has now fixed the issue.
Attention was now turned to the Flatbed laser marking machine and the laser service covered the below items: –
- Mirrors and Len Inspection & Clean

After completing all the service items as above, the laser alignment was checked and the power measured from the nozzle. The power was showing that the laser was producing 79.3w @25mA 66%. The service for this machine had now been completed.
