Laser Service near Milton Keynes, Thinklaser Lightblade 1290 100 watt – Milton Keynes Academy
A visit to a customer, Milton Keynes Academy was required as the customer had requested their annual service, which we would recommend for all our customers. The laser service was conducted by our service engineer ‘Gavin Edwards’. The service visit included: –

Upon arrival at Milton Keynes Academy the machine was visually inspected. The machine was in good condition, although it was noticed that the autofocus pen was not working as the tip was not moving, and the main door needed to be investigated as it was only just holding itself up, the laser power was tested at the nozzle and was showing 57.6w @25mA 84%. The service items were carried out: –
- Clean mirrors and lens
- Water Cooling Chiller Inspection, Clean, Drain & Refill
- Inspect, Clean and Lubricate all Linear/Guide Rails
- Calibrate Bed Level
- Auto Focus Pen Inspection & Clean
- Electronics Inspection
- Safety Interlocks Inspection & Test
After completing all the normal service items as above, the autofocus pen was now working after it had been disassembled and cleaned. The main door gas struts were replaced for new, and this held the door firmly in place when open. The laser alignment was checked and adjusted and the power measured again from the nozzle. The power was now showing that the laser was producing 90.8w @28mA 84%.
As part of their extraction system, Milton Keynes Academy had a Bofa AD 1000 iQ, the filters were inspected and shown that the last replacement was in July 2022. However there was no error on the machine and no sense or odour coming from the exhaust, meaning that the filters were still in a usable condition. Finally some test jobs were run on the machine and the customer was happy with the machines processing capabilities.
