Laser Service near Hounslow, on a Technology Supplies 4060 40W and a Thinklaser 6090 80W – Kingsley Academy
The visit to our repeat customer Kingsley Academy was requested for their annual service of their Technology Supplies 4060 and our Thinklaser Lighblade 6090 flatbed laser markers. This laser service was conducted by our highly experienced laser service engineer ‘Gavin Edwards’. The service visit included the following: –
Upon arrival at the Kingsley Academy the laser machine service was started and the machines were visually inspected.
Thinklaser Lightblade 6090 80 watt
The first of the machines was our own Lightblade 6090 machine. The following items were carried out with no issues: –
- Inspect, Clean and Lubricate all Linear/Guide Rails
- Mirror Inspection & Clean
- Lens Inspection & Clean
- Auto Focus Pen Inspection & Clean
- Honey Comb Bed Inspection & Leveling
- Electronics Inspection
- Safety Interlocks Inspection & Test
- Water Cooling Chiller Inspection, Clean, Drain & Refill
- Full Laser Alignment Check
- Laser Tube Health Check
- Power Check @ Laser Tube & Laser Nozzle
- Check overall machine function by Test Cutting Customer Materials


The laser power was measured from the exit aperture of the laser nozzle and was shown to measure 72.1w @76% 25mA.
As part of the final check on the machine, several jobs were run. This also involves inspecting the supplied BOFA AD500 IQ extraction system for function and laser fume removal. All was working fine and no smells could be smelt from the exhaust fan of the extractor
Technology Supplies 4060 40 watt
The second of the machines was a Technology Supplies 4060 machine. The following items were carried out with no issues: –
- Inspect, Clean and Lubricate all Linear/Guide Rails
- Mirror Inspection & Clean
- Lens Inspection & Clean – A new 2.5″ lens was installed
- Auto Focus Pen Inspection & Clean
- Honey Comb Bed Inspection & Leveling
- Electronics Inspection
- Safety Interlocks Inspection & Test
- Water Cooling Chiller Inspection, Clean, Drain & Refill
- Full Laser Alignment Check
- Laser Tube Health Check
- Power Check @ Laser Tube & Laser Nozzle
- Check overall machine function by Test Cutting Customer Materials


The laser power was measured from the exit aperture of the laser nozzle and was shown to measure 64.5w @70% 22mA.
For this smaller machine an AD500 is over spec’ed but the customer did have a BOFA Nano Plus, this unit was also checked. The filters were dated 2020 but was still working within the machine, no errors or smells could be smelt coming from the rear exhaust port, but the customer was still advised to replace the main combined filter due to the active carbon being almost certainly depleted
