Laser Service near Croydon, Boxford BGL460 80 watts – Old Palace of John Whitgift School
A visit to a new customer, Old Palace of John Whitgift School. The customer had requested a visit as they were having issues with the laser alignment of the system. Whilst on site the laser machine would also be given a health check. The laser service was conducted by our highly experienced service engineer ‘Gavin Edwards’. The laser service visit included: –
Boxford BGL460 80 watt
Upon arrival at the Old Palace of John Whitgift School the flatbed machine was visually inspected. The machine was in generally good condition.

The laser alignment was checked and was found to be off on the third mirror. The system was fully realigned. The laser power was measured from the exit aperture of the nozzle and was shown to measure 78w @70% power. This power was locked into the software so to not allow overdriving and stressing the laser tube.
The mirrors and the lens were inspected and cleaned. The remaining items of a service were carried out with no issues: –
- Calibrate Bed Level
- Auto Focus Pen Inspection & Clean
- Electronics Inspection
- Safety Interlocks Inspection & Test
As there was some time spare at the end of the service visit, Gavin went through some refresher training on the machine and the software with the customer. Several jobs were run on the machine and all tested ok. The customer was happy with the service provided.
