Laser Service near Bromley on a Flux Beambox – Babington House School
A visit to a customer, Babington House School was required as the customer had a Flux Beambox in need of a service. We normally recommend to our customers that they get their laser machines serviced every year to avoid any unwanted downtime. This service was conducted by our highly experienced laser machine service engineer ‘Gavin Edwards’.
Flux Beambox
Upon arrival at Babington House School the machine was visually inspected. Upon speaking to the customer, they did inform us that they had had issues with the camera, the issue that they were having was that the camera would sometimes only scan part of the bed. The camera connections were tested across the whole work area, but no intermittent area could be found. As a precaution the camera cable was replaced.
It was also found that there were bubbles running through the laser tube, indicating that the water level was low. If you have bubbles running through your laser tube, or even a trapped bubble, we advise to try and remove these bubbles as it affects the cooling condition of the laser tube and can create a ‘Hot Spot’ in the tube, and can sometimes cause breakages. The reservoir was topped up with distilled water.
The service continued with the following items.
- Clean all Mirrors and Lens
- Checked Beam Alignment
- Inspect, Clean and Lubricate all Linear/Guide Rails
- Clean Air Pump
- Clean Camera System
- Electronics Inspection
- Safety Interlocks Inspection & Test
The laser power was tested coming from the nozzle and was shown to be measuring 35w @70% power. The laser power log was inspected to ensure that the machine had not been overdriven for any length of time. Happy to report that the report showed good management of the laser power requests.
The unit was run for a few of the customer main projects and the customer was happy with the results.
