Laser Machine Service near Winscombe, on a Thinklaser Lightblade 1490 100W – Sidcot School
The visit to our customer Sidcot School was for a service and a laser tube change on their Thinklaser Lightblade 1490 100 watt flatbed laser marker. This service was conducted by our service engineer ‘Gavin Edwards’. The laser marker service visit includes: –

The engineer arrived on site and commenced the laser machine service and replacement of the laser tube. The machine had been kept in a good condition. The laser power was measured from the old laser tube at the nozzle and was measured to be 74w @76% 26mA.
Due to the laser being changed some of the standard service items were carried out as part of the tube change over. This included: –
- Mirror Inspection & Clean
- Lens Inspection & Clean
- Water Cooling Chiller Inspection, Clean, Drain & Refill
After these items were completed the new 100w Reci laser tube was installed, the beam alignment adjusted for the new tube and the laser power measured once more from the nozzle. This now measured 97.9w @80% 26mA.
Once the laser tube replacement had been carried out the remainder of the standard service items could be completed.
- Inspect, Clean and Lubricate all Linear/Guide Rails
- Auto Focus Pen Inspection & Clean
- Honey Comb Bed Inspection & Leveling
- Electronics Inspection
- Safety Interlocks Inspection & Test
- Check overall machine function by Test Cutting Customer Materials
Whilst carrying out the remainder of the standard service items it was found that the lid hinges were becoming warn and these were replaced. The bed level was 1mm off on the right hand side, this was rectified and secured in place.
Some of Sidcot School‘s jobs were run on the machine as a final test and the customer was happy with the outcome.
