Laser Machine Service near Walsall, on a 1290 – 80watt Thinklaser Lightblade – Cheslyn Hay Academy
The visit to our long time customer Chesyln Hay Academy was due to the customer having requested their annual laser service on their Thinklaser Lightblade 1290 80 watt flatbed laser machines, which we would recommend for all our customers. This service was conducted by our highly experienced service engineer ‘Gavin Edwards’. The laser service visit includes: –
Upon arrival at Chesyln Hay Academy the flatbed machine was visually inspected. The machine looked to be in good condition.
The service on the laser machine was then started. The main Focusing Lens was inspected. There were some minor scratches on the surface, but these were not effecting the output power or the cutting or engraving quality, so the customer was informed to keep an eye on the quality and report back if necessary, but the focusing lens didn’t yet need replacing.
The remaining service items were carried out with little to no issue raised: –
- Inspect and Clean all Mirrors
- Inspect, Clean and Lubricate all Linear/Guide Rails
- Auto Focus Pen Inspection & Clean
- Honey Comb Bed Inspection & Bed Leveling – Adjusted slightly on left side ~ 1mm
- Electronics Inspection
- Clean All Fans & Filters
- Safety Interlocks Inspection & Test
- Water Cooling Chiller Inspection, Clean, Drain & Refill
- Full Laser Alignment Check
- Laser Tube Health Check
The laser power was tested after the completed laser service, this was measured at the exit aperture to the laser nozzle. This was shown to be measuring 82.4w @75% 25mA power.
For final testing some jobs of Chesyln Hay Academy were run on the machine as a final test and the customer was happy with the outcome.
The extraction unit that was supplied with the machine was checked and the filters inspected. Due to the size of the extraction unit being correctly suited for the machine bed size, it was in perfect health.
Some extra software training was carried out on the Lightburn software. The customer informed us that she was wishing to install Lightburn on her office PC but the license code had already been fully used. We informed her that we would be able to log into Lightburn and check her license credentials and amend or delete the license from a PC that she had specified, freeing up a license seat for her to install a fresh install of Lightburn on her office PC.

Any of the consumable items mentioned above, Lens, Mirrors, Laser tubes, Power supplies are all available and can be bought separately in our online shop.
