Laser Machine Service near Stevenage on a Jindiao 1290 80w – Aero Solutions UAV Ltd
A visit to a new customer, Aero Solutions UAV Ltd was required as the customer was wishing to have their main focusing lens and honeycomb bed replaced as well as their Jindiao Machine serviced. The laser service was conducted by our highly experienced service engineer ‘Gavin Edwards’. The service visit included: –

Upon arrival at Aero Solutions UAV Ltd the machine was visually inspected. The laser tube was inspected. The unit was an EFR F2 laser tube, dated July 2015. The laser power was measured from the exit aperture of the laser nozzle and was shown to be measuring 37w @100% power.

All the mirrors were checked and they were all very dirty. Due to these mirror being molybdenum mirrors, they were able to cleaned.


The main focusing lens was a 2″ lens, which was found to be installed upside down. The lens was able to be cleaned and was re-instated into the lens tube. The customer opted to have their old lens insitu and have the new lens as a spare.
The service then continued with the following items checked: –
- Inspect, Clean and Lubricate all Linear/Guide Rails
- Check Electrical Connections
- Check Safety Circuitry
- Check Chiller – Customer had replaced water approx 4 months ago.
- Clean Fan Filters
- Check overall machine function by Test Cutting Customer Materials


The laser beam alignment was checked and was found to be clipping the inside of the nozzle. This was shown by a couple of symptoms. Firstly, whilst firing the laser, the laser nozzle was getting noticeably warmer. Second was that the cutting line was showing to have a ‘ghost’ image next to the main beam. The alignment was corrected and the laser power measured from the laser nozzle again. It was shown to be reading 67w @100%.
This completed the laser service of the customers machine and several jobs were ran to ensure smooth operation. All tested to the customers standard.
