Laser Machine Service near Staines, on a 2515 130 watt HPC LaserScript Machine – Fuel4 Ltd

A visit to a customer, Fuel4 Ltd was requested by the customer as their HPC laser machine was in need of a service and that the laser was cutting thick material at an angle. The laser service of the HPC machine was conducted by our highly experienced service engineer ‘Gavin Edwards’. The laser service visit included: –

HPC Laserscript – 2515 130 watt

Upon arrival at Fuel4 Ltd the HPC machine and the reported issues were visually inspected. Due to this size of machine being a class 4 and open system. The customer had installed an extraction hose to the side of the gantry head to assist in the extracting and to try to maintain a better working environment. The retrofit was better for extracting, however a by-product was that there was a lot of build up of debris near the X-motor and belt mechanism, customer was advised to incorporate this into their more regular cleaning program to avoid future issues.

There was also a secondary issue with this extraction modification and that was when the system was at it most forward position the extraction hose would collide with the E-stop button and switch the machine off. The customer was aware of this issue and had operations in place to avoid the scenario.

To check the issue for the cut being at an angle and a more tapered cut, the generic service items were first carried out, as a lot of the potential causes would be resolved by a thorough service of the machine.

The alignment was first checked and was found to be off. All mirrors were inspected and cleaned.
