Laser Machine Service near Sevenoaks, Thinklaser Lightblade’s 2 x 6090 80 watts – Dovetails Vintage
A visit to a customer, Dovetails Vintage was required as the customer had requested their annual service on their two lightblade machines, which we would recommend for all our customers. The laser service was conducted by our service engineer ‘Gavin Edwards’. The service visit included: –
Thinklaser Lightblade 1st 6090 80 watt
Upon arrival at Dovetails Vintage the first 6090 machine was visually inspected. The machine was visually in good condition.
The customer hadn’t reported any faults with the machine, the customer was getting busier and they wanted to ensure that the laser machines were running efficiently and there were any potential issues as the laser machines were a key part of their business.
The service of the laser machine covered the below items: –
- Mirrors and Len Inspection & Clean
- Nozzle Inspection & Clean
- Water Cooling Chiller Inspection, Clean, Drain & Refill
- Inspect, Clean and Lubricate all Linear/Guide Rails
- Calibrate Bed Level – Adjusted front of bed slightly
- Auto Focus Pen Inspection & Clean
- Electronics Inspection
- Safety Interlocks Inspection & Test
The lower Z-axis limit was broken and not working, but the customer said that they don’t ever move the Z-axis too low, so instructed our engineer to not replace the unit.
After completing all the service items as above, the laser alignment was checked and adjusted and the power measured from the nozzle. The power was showing that the laser was producing 83.5w @25mA 93%. The service for this machine had now been completed.
Thinklaser Lightblade 2nd 6090 80 watt
Dovetails Vintage‘s second 6090 machine was also visually inspected. This was also in good condition.
As per the other machine the laser service was conducted and the below was also carried out: –
- Mirrors and Len Inspection & Clean
- Nozzle Inspection & Clean
- Water Cooling Chiller Inspection, Clean, Drain & Refill
- Inspect, Clean and Lubricate all Linear/Guide Rails
- Calibrate Bed Level – Adjusted left side of bed slightly
- Auto Focus Pen Inspection & Clean
- Electronics Inspection
- Safety Interlocks Inspection & Test
The beam alignment was checked and was found to be slightly out from mirror 3 down into the nozzle housing. This was adjusted and the laser power measured, the power was shown to be 84.1w @25mA 66%.
