Laser Machine Service near Redhill, on a 6090 60 watt HPC LaserScript Machine – St Bede’s School
A visit to a new customer, St Bede’s School was requested as the customer had purchased a SPT 60 watt Laser Tube from us. However once he had installed it, the customer couldn’t get the machine to fire. The laser service was conducted by our highly experienced service engineer ‘Gavin Edward’. The laser service visit included: –
Upon arrival at St Bede’s School the machine was visually inspected. The laser machine looked to be in good overall condition.
To test whether the laser tube was working correctly, the engineer temporally by-passed all the interlock circuity. The showed that the laser fired successfully and was showing that the laser tube was working as expected. The interlocks were reinstated one by one to find the cause of the issue.
The fault was located in the water flow switch. The flow was investigated first to ensure that there was sufficient water flow to activate the switch. This was shown to be the case, but the flow switch was not switching.
The flow sensor was replaced with a a new flow sensor and tested to ensure proper functionality.
Whilst completing the alignment checks on the machine, it was noted that the Z-axis rack were very dirty at the upper section of their travel, these were cleaned and re-lubricated.
The machine service was then conducted. The following was carried out with no major issues seen: –
- Inspected and Cleaned all Mirrors
- Inspected and Cleaned Main Focusing Lens
- Inspected, Drained and Flushed chiller before refilling with Distilled Water
- Inspected and Cleaned Belts
- Inspect, Clean and Lubricate all Linear/Guide Rails
- Calibrate Bed Level
- Checked all Sensor and switches
- Electronics Inspection
- Safety Interlocks Inspection & Test
The laser power was measured at the exit aperture to the laser nozzle. It was shown to be now measuring 76.4w @80% power. Some final tests and customer tests were run on the machine.
