Laser Machine Service near Raynes Park – Boxford 1390 100W – Raynes Park School
The visit to our customer Raynes Park High School was requested as the customer had said that the Boxford laser marking machine was not cutting as deeply as before. This laser machine service was conducted by our highly experienced service engineer ‘Gavin Edwards’. The laser service visit included: –
Boxford Laser 1390 100 watt
Upon arrival at Raynes Park High School the engineer started by inspecting the machine. The lid handle was found to be very loose, These were tightened and Loctite applied to the nuts to prevent this from re-occurring.
The alignment was checked and was found to be out in a four corners. Before correcting the alignment all the mirrors were inspected and found to be dirty. These were cleaned and re-seated into their housing. The alignment was then completed.
The main focusing lens was then removed and inspected. It too was also found to be heavily contaminated. The contamination was able to be cleaned, however upon further inspection of the focusing lens it was found to have a small crack in the centre of the lens. This would effect the laser beam profile and therefore not be optimum for cutting or engraving. The lens was replaced with a new 2.5″ lens.
The laser head and nozzle were cleaned and then the laser power was measured at it’s exit aperture. It was shown to be reading 72.5w @99% power. The laser tube was dated July 2021. It was recommended to schedule a replacement laser tube, as the tube power will continue to decrease over time.
The remainder of the service items were then carried out with no further issues
- Inspect, Clean and Lubricate all Linear/Guide Rails
- Inspect, Clean and tension belts
- Cleaned Rear Exhaust outlet
- Calibrate Bed Level
- Inspected Interlocks and Chiller Alarms
- Inspected and checked electrics, sensors and switches
- Safety Interlocks Inspection & Test
The system was given a full bill of health and several jobs were run on the machine to test. All where upto the customers standards.
