Laser Machine Service near Poole on a Thinklaser Lightblade 1290 – 100 watt – BCP Media
The visit to our customer, BCP Media Group was requested as the customer had a laser tube failure. A new laser tube had been sent out and the customer fitted the unit themselves but was having issues with the laser alignment. The customer annual service was due in mid-September. So both visits were combined together to provide a more cost efficient laser engineers visit. This laser service was conducted by our highly experienced service engineer ‘Gavin Edwards’. The visit included: –
Thinklaser Lightblade 1290 – 100 watt
On arrival the machine was visually inspected. The laser alignment was checked and the beam was slightly out between mirror 1 and mirror 2, but was off by some margin from mirror 2 to mirror 3. The laser alignment was adjusted to be aligned in all 4 corners and the centre of the machine.
All mirrors were cleaned and reseated. The nozzle and the auto-focus pen were also cleaned. The main focusing lens could not be removed from the lens tube, as the internal thread had been damaged by the overtightening of the auto focus bracket. A new lens tube with a new 2.5″ lens was installed.
The following items of the service were carried out with no issues: –
- Inspected, Drained and Flushed chiller before refilling with Distilled Water
- Inspected and Cleaned Belts
- Inspect, Clean and Lubricate all Linear/Guide Rails
- Calibrate Bed Level
- Checked all Sensor and switches
- Electronics Inspection
- Safety Interlocks Inspection & Test
The laser power was tested at the exit to the nozzle. The power was shown to be reading 101w @82% 27mA power.
It was noted to the customer after a few test jobs were run that the machine needed to be cleaned out on a more regular basis, as the customer had left a large amount of cut acrylic shapes in the base of their flatbed laser marker. This is a potential fire hazards as the laser when it cuts through will heat these components and melt them, potentially causing a fire within the machine.
