Laser Machine Service near Penge, on an Omtech Polar – Hobbyist Patrica
The visit to our new customer Patrica was because she had been having issues with her Omtech Polar. She had previously bought the machine from new approximately 9 months ago, she had been happy with the machine for the first 6 months but then began to experience cutting issues. She had contact Omtech support and had eventually been sent a new laser tube.
Patrica contacted us at Thinklaser to assist with the installation of her new laser tube and to perform a health check on the machine. This service was conducted by our highly experienced service engineer ‘Gavin Edwards’. The laser service visit included: –
Omtech Polar Support
Upon arrival at the customer address in Penge, South East London the flatbed machine was visually inspected. The machine was found to be in very good condition.
The existing laser tube was checked. It appeared physically intact, but when attempted to be pulsed no laser beam was emitted. The original laser tube was removed and the replacement tube supplied by Omtech was installed.
The laser tube was tested and confirmed to be firing correctly. The laser beam was checked and was found to be as expected. The mirrors, main focusing lens and the nozzle were all cleaned. The laser output was measured at the exit aperture to the Omtech Polar nozzle. It was measured at 47.8w @20mA 70% power.
The machine was then given a general check over to see if there could be any further potential issues. In this case due to the age of the machine, no further issues were found.
The customer was provided with a general maintenance schedule and advice and demonstrations on what maintenance to carry out and some operator training on the running of the machine alongside some tips and tricks for what they were producing with their laser machine.,
