Laser Machine Service near Paddington, on a Technology Supplies 4060 60W – Paddington School
The visit to our customer Paddington Academy was for a service and a laser tube change on their Technology Supplies 4060 60 watt flatbed laser marker. This service was conducted by our service engineer ‘Gavin Edwards’. The laser marker service visit includes: –

The engineer arrived on site and commenced the laser machine service and replacement of the laser tube. The machine had been kept in a good condition. Whilst carrying out the initial inspection of the machine it was found that the lid would not always stay in the correct position. All fixing points were tightened and it was also found that one of the main struts was weak. This was replaced with new. The laser power was measured from the old laser tube at the nozzle and was measured to be 53w @87% 28mA, it had been recommended to change the tube at the last service visit, as the original supplied tube was 8 years old.
Due to the laser being changed some of the standard service items were carried out as part of the tube change over. This included: –
- Mirror Inspection & Clean
- Lens Inspection & Clean
- Water Cooling Chiller Inspection, Clean, Drain & Refill
After these items were completed the new SPT Laser Tube was installed, the beam alignment adjusted for the new tube and the laser power measured once more from the nozzle. This now measured 79w @87% 22mA.
Once the laser tube replacement had been carried out the remainder of the standard service items could be completed.

- Auto Focus Pen Inspection & Clean
- Honey Comb Bed Inspection & Leveling
- Electronics Inspection
- Safety Interlocks Inspection & Test
- Check overall machine function by Test Cutting Customer Materials
Some of Paddington Academy‘s jobs were run on the machine as a final test and the customer was happy with the outcome. The last thing that was done was to replace the customer filters on their Bofa unit.
