Laser Machine Service near Oxford, Thinklaser Lightblade 1490 60 watts – Pitt Rivers Museum
A visit to a customer, Pitt Rivers Museum was required as the customer had requested their annual service on their laser machine, which we would recommend for all our customers. The laser service was conducted by our highly experienced service engineer ‘Gavin Edwards’. The service visit included: –
Thinklaser Lightblade 1490 60 watt
Upon arrival at Pitt Rivers Museum the flatbed machine was visually inspected. The machine was in good condition.


The service of the machine was then started. The machine was hoovered and cleaned inside and out. The laser power was measured from the nozzle aperture and was shown to be 68.5w @22mA 84%.
The following remaining item of the service were carried out with no issues: –
- Nozzle Inspection & Clean
- Water Cooling Chiller Inspection, Clean, Drain & Refill
- Inspect, Clean and Lubricate all Linear/Guide Rails
- Calibrate Bed Level
- Auto Focus Pen Inspection & Clean
- Electronics Inspection
- Safety Interlocks Inspection & Test
Whilst testing the machine the CW 3000 Industrial Chiller unit randomly started alarming. No reason for the alarming could be found, so it was discussed with the customer and it was decided to replace the chiller with a new CW 3000 Industrial Chiller unit. The service of the laser machine was now completed and the customer files were tested on the machine. The customer was happy with the service.
