Laser Machine Service near Northampton, Thinklaser Lightblade 6090 DS 80 watt CO2 & 30 watt Fibre – Mansfield Board Machinery Ltd
A visit to a customer, Mansfield Board Machinery was required as the customer had requested their annual service, which we would recommend for all our customers. The laser service was conducted by our laser machine service engineer ‘Gavin Edwards’. The service visit included: –
Thinklaser Lightblade 6090 DS (Dual Source)
Upon arrival at Mansfield Board Machinery, the machine was visually inspected. On a service with no known prior issues, it is normal practice to check the laser power from the nozzle, this was done on the Lightblade Dual Source on both laser nozzles. The following powers were measured. From the CO2 nozzle was 65w @25mA 91% and from the fibre nozzle was 25w @ 99%.
The mirror and both lens were checked and cleaned. There was a few scratches on the CO2 lens in the nozzle, this was not affecting either the power of the laser, or the cut quality, so the customer was happy for it not to be replaced.
The laser service was continued with the following items were carried out: –
- Water Cooling Chiller Inspection, Clean, Drain & Refill
- Inspect, Clean and Lubricate all Linear/Guide Rails
- Auto Focus Pen Inspection & Clean
- Checked all Belts and Pulleys
- Check the Bed Level – Slightly adjusted the right side as it was 1mm down
- Electronics Inspection
- Safety Interlocks Inspection & Test
The laser powers were remeasured after the beam alignment was checked and both nozzles were producing better results. The CO2 was measuring 81.3w @25mA 91% and the fibre was measuring 29.9w @99%.
The customer had mentioned that the hose connection on the mini compressor had come off and they couldn’t reconnect it. This was inspected and was found that a small section of hose had lodged itself within the pneumatic connector. This was removed, the pipework reseated and the unit tested.
After the laser machine service was concluded, the machine was tested by running some of the customer jobs. The customer was happy with the results of the service
