Laser Machine Service near Ipswich on a Kent Laser 6090 – 130 watt – University of Suffolk
The visit to our new customer, University of Suffolk was requested as their Kent Laser 6090 130 watt machine was in need of an annual service. We recommend an annual service for all flatbed laser machines to keep them in top condition and to avoid most costly emergency callouts. This laser service was conducted by our highly experienced service engineer ‘Gavin Edwards’. The visit included: –
Kent Laser 6090 – 130 watt
On arrival the machine was visually inspected. The machine looked in good condition. The laser power was initially tested at the exit aperture of the laser nozzle. The laser power was shown to measure 77w @90%.


The machine service was then conducted. The following was carried out with no major issues seen: –
- Inspected and Cleaned Mirrors and Focusing Lens
- Inspected, Drained and Flushed chiller before refilling with Distilled Water
- Inspected and Cleaned Belts
- Inspect, Clean and Lubricate all Linear/Guide Rails
- Calibrate Bed Level – Small adjustment required
- Checked all Sensor and switches
- Electronics Inspection
- Safety Interlocks Inspection & Test
After all our standard service items were completed the laser power was again measured from the laser nozzle. It was shown to measure 97w @90%.

The laser unit was also connected to a Bofa AD Oracle fume extraction system. The filters were all checked are were functioning correctly and we within date. The external exhaust was also vented to atmosphere.
