Laser Machine Service near Ealing, on a 1290 80 watt HPC LaserScript Machine – Drayton Manor High School
A visit to a customer, DRAYTON MANOR HIGH SCHOOL was requested as the customer wished to have their annual service carried out on their HPC laser machine. The laser service was conducted by our highly experienced service engineer ‘Gavin Edwards’. The laser visit included: –
Upon arrival at DRAYTON MANOR HIGH SCHOOL the machine was visually inspected. It was noted that the red pointer was not working. This was found to be down to cable damage near the laser head. This was repaired.
The rest of the machine was then checked over and the following items were carried out with no issues
- Inspect and Clean All Mirrors
- Inspect and clean main focus lens
- Inspect, Clean and Lubricate all Linear/Guide Rails
- Drained, Flushed and refilled Chiller unit
- Auto Focus Pen Inspection & Clean
- Clean exhaust fan duct
- Z-Axis Bed Inspection & Leveling
- Electronics Inspection
- Safety Interlocks Inspection & Test
- Check overall machine function by Test Cutting Customer Materials
The laser alignment was checked and required a little bit of adjustment as the beam was not parallel to the X axis.
The laser power was measured at the exit aperture of the laser head and was shown to be measuring 85.7w @70% power. No Ammeter are usually present on these old HPC laser machines. Even tho the laser tube was built in 2020, it was still producing more than sufficient power required.
The customer did have an AD Oracle IQ extraction system, but was not using it, as they had a large industrial fan, extracting the cabinet to the external wall.
A number of jobs were then run on the machine and all was shown to be working as the customer expects. This concluded the laser service
