Laser Machine Service near Crawley on a Jindiao 4060 – The Gatwick School
The visit to The Gatwick School, our customer, was for a service on their Chinese Jindiao 4060 flatbed marking machine. This laser machine service was conducted by our service engineer ‘Gavin Edwards’. The service visit included: –

The machine was visually inspected. We had been informed previously that the focus lens was badly damaged and needed to be replaced. This lens was inspected and attempts were made to clean it, but the marks had been burned onto the lens and could not be removed. The lens was tested for focus height to determine what focal lens it was and the appropriate lens was replaced.
The laser alignment was checked and found to be out by several millimetres on the far right hand side. The beam was realigned in all 5 critical alignment areas of the machine. Top Left, Top right, Bottom Left, Bottom right and centre centre.
The service then continued with the following items checked: –
- Inspect, Clean and Lubricate all Linear/Guide Rails
- Mirror Inspection & Clean
- Laser Tube Health Check
- Power Check @ Laser Tube & Laser Nozzle
- Check overall machine function by Test Cutting Customer Materials
The laser power was checked at the output of the nozzle at it was showing to be producing 59.6 watts @79%.
As part of their system The Gatwick School has a Purex iFume 400i extraction unit. As part of the service a new main 400i Hepa filter and a new 400i Pre filter were installed.
