Laser Machine Service near Cambridge on a Flux Beambox – PocDoc
A visit to a customer, PocDoc was required as the customer had a Flux Beambox that was in need of it’s annual service. This is something that we recommend to our customers that they get their laser machines serviced every year to avoid any unwanted downtime. This service was conducted by our highly experienced laser machine service engineer ‘Gavin Edwards’.
Flux Beambox
Upon arrival at PocDoc the machine was visually inspected. It was found that the alignment was incorrect on positions 3 and 4. Position 3 being top right of the machine and position 4, being the bottom left of the machine. Since other items within the service visit may affect the beam alignment this was not corrected at this stage.
The service continued with the following items.
- Inspected and Cleaned all mirrors and focusing lens
- Water Cooling Chiller Inspection, refilled the water chamber
- Inspect, Clean and Lubricate all Linear/Guide Rails
- Clean Air Pump
- Clean Extractor fan
- Clean Camera System
- Electronics Inspection
- Safety Interlocks Inspection & Test
During the rest of these service items it was found that the bed was not level, the front of the bed was low by approximately 2mm, this was adjusted to be flat with the laser head moment, in order to maintain focus across the entire work piece.
At the final stage the laser beam alignment was corrected and the laser power was tested coming from the nozzle. It was showing 29.4w @70% power.
All function on the machine were then fully tested and were all operating correctly.
Following our advice from last years service visit the customer had replaced their Flux Air extractor, with the supplied Bofa AD Oracle IQ, with their new Thinklaser supplied Bespoke system. This unit received it’s yearly LEV test and passed with flying colours.
