Laser Machine Service near Billericay – Boxford 4060 80W – Blasted Memories
The visit to our new customer Blasted Memories was requested as the customer had said that the Boxford laser marking machine was not performing as well as it had on previous work. This laser machine service was conducted by our highly experienced service engineer ‘Gavin Edwards’. The laser service visit included: –
Boxford Laser 4060 80 watt
Upon arrival at Blasted Memories the engineer started by inspecting the machine. The laser alignment was checked and was found to be good. All the mirrors and main focusing lens were cleaned.
The laser power was measure at the entrance to mirror 3. It was shown to be producing 48w @99% power. This was discussed with the customer and it was decided to replace with one of our SPT Laser Tubes. The CW3000 cooler was drained and refilled. After the installation of the new tube the laser alignment was re-checked.
It was still in a good position, so the laser power was measured at the exit aperture of the nozzle. The laser was shown to be reading 60w @75% power. The laser nozzle was removed and the power test rerun. This result was measuring 95 @75%. This was showing that there was an issue with the laser nozzle.
The nozzle was inspected for damage but no damage could be found. The customer had a 2.5″ lens fitted. However the lens was mounted in the wrong position for the focal length. The customer had a spare 2″ lens which was installed in the lens tube and the output was remeasured. This time the laser power output measured 93w @75%. The 2.5″ lens was position correctly within a different lens tube, but the 2″ lens was left insitu.
The remainder of the service items were then carried out with no further issues
- Inspect, Clean and Lubricate all Linear/Guide Rails
- Inspect, Clean and tension belts
- Cleaned Rear Exhaust outlet
- Calibrate Bed Level
- Inspected Interlocks and Chiller Alarms
- Inspected and checked electrics, sensors and switches
- Safety Interlocks Inspection & Test
The system was given a full bill of health and several jobs were run on the machine to test. All where upto the customers standards.
