Laser Machine Service near Ash, on a 6840 60 watt HPC LaserScript Machine – Ash Manor School
A visit to a new customer, Ash Manor School was requested as the customer had requested their annual service of their machine, which we recommend to all our customers to avoid any significant downtime. The laser service was conducted by our highly experienced service engineer ‘Gavin Edward’. The laser service visit included: –
Upon arrival at Ash Manor School the machine was visually inspected. The laser machine looked to be in good overall condition, dirty in certain areas. These areas were cleaned.
Normally as an initial health check is to test the laser power. The laser power was measured at the exit aperture of the laser nozzle and was shown to read 47w @95% power.
The service of the machine was then started. All the mirrors and the main focusing lens was inspected and cleaned. The focusing lens had a chip on the edge and so was replaced with a new 2.5″ lens.
Whilst completing the alignment checks on the machine, it was noted that the Z-axis rack were very dirty at the upper section of their travel, these were cleaned and re-lubricated.
The machine service was then conducted. The following was carried out with no major issues seen: –
- Inspected, Drained and Flushed chiller before refilling with Distilled Water
- Inspected and Cleaned Belts
- Inspect, Clean and Lubricate all Linear/Guide Rails
- Calibrate Bed Level
- Checked all Sensor and switches
- Electronics Inspection
- Safety Interlocks Inspection & Test
The client’s Bofa AD Oracle was also inspected and was found to be in good working order. Although we do recommend that this extractor is undersized for this type of machine, as it needs more power which in turn reduces the life of the filter units inside
At the end of the laser service the laser power was again measured at the exit aperture of the laser nozzle, it was shown to be now measuring 68.4w @80% power. Some final tests and customer tests were run on the machine.
