Laser Machine Repair near Sevenoaks, Thunderlaser 60 watts – Hobbyist
A visit to one of our customers, was requested as the customer had reported that the laser tube had cracked with the latest cold weather snap. Whilst on site the machine would also be given a health check. The laser repair was conducted by our highly experienced service engineer ‘Gavin Edwards’. The service visit included: –
Thunder Laser 60 watt
Upon arrival at the hobbyists home their flatbed machine was visually inspected. The machine was in generally a good condition, the customer had reported that the water had frozen inside their laser tube and broken the internal glass.
The engineered removed all the laser tube and all the broken glass, and cleared out all the water and residue still inside the chassis, as we all know water and electricity don’t tend to like to mix!

The CW 5200 Chiller was drained and refilled with a water and antifreeze mix to reduce the risk of this happening again. A new SPT laser tube was installed.
The new laser tube was realigned within the machine and the laser power tested at the exit aperture of the laser nozzle. The power was measured at 65w @80% 22mA.
The rest of the machine was checked over for any other damage caused:-
- Nozzle Inspection & Clean
- Water Cooling Chiller Inspection, Clean, Drain & Refill
- Inspect, Clean and Lubricate all Linear/Guide Rails
- Calibrate Bed Level
- Auto Focus Pen Inspection & Clean
- Electronics Inspection
- Safety Interlocks Inspection & Test

There was nothing else found of issue with the machine. The customer ran a number of jobs and was happy with the service that was provided.
