Laser Machine Repair near Letchworth, on an Epilog Helix 75 – Benchmark Fabrication Ltd
A visit to a new customer, Benchmark Fabrications Ltd was requested as the customer had recently bought a second hand Epilog Helix Laser Machine and they were unsure as to how to set the mahchine up and run it. So they sought the help of the experts. The laser service was conducted by our highly experienced service engineer ‘Gavin Edwards’. The laser service visit included: –

Upon arrival at Benchmark Fabrications Ltd the machines were visually inspected, the machine was in generally good condition concerning it’s age. It was noted that the laser flatbed did not have any form of extraction. The customer was advised of the options of what was required. From an inline fan or a full blown Extraction System.
As part of the laser repair the system was then put through our extensive service checks to ensure that all parts of the machine were functioning: –
- Inspect and Clean all Mirrors and Lens
- Nozzle Inspection & Clean
- Water Cooling Chiller Inspection, Clean, Drain & Refill
- Inspect, Clean and Lubricate all Linear/Guide Rails
- Calibrate Bed Level
- Auto Focus Pen Inspection & Clean
- Electronics Inspection
- Safety Interlocks Inspection & Test
The alignment was checked and was good across the bed. The laser power was measured from the exit aperture of the nozzle an was shown to be @45 watts. The drivers and Lightburn software was installed onto the customers PC, and for the rest of the visit, the engineer ran through the extensive laser training of the machine and software training on Lightburn.
A number of jobs were then run on all machines and all was shown to be working as the customer expects. This concluded the laser service.
