Laser Machine Repair near Godalming reporting an intermittent chiller alarm issue and to replace the aging Laser Tube, on a Technology Supplies 6090 80W – King Edwards Witley
The visit to our customer King Edward’s Witley School was for a repair of their Techology Supplies 6090 80 watt flatbed laser marker. The reported issue was that the chiller would alarm out mid-job causing the laser to switch off. This repair was conducted by our service engineer ‘Gavin Edwards’. The laser repair visit also included a laser tube replacement and a service which includes: –

The engineer arrived on site and started the investigation into the faulty machine. The CW 3000 chiller was inspected and seemed to be functioning as expected. The engineer moved on to check all the internal and external pipes for damage, stiffness, kinking. The external pipes did seem softer than usual but was noted that this alone would not cause the chiller to alarm. Due to fault with the CW 3000 chiller being intermittent it was surmised that it could be an issue with the internal flow sensor or the main pump itself. A new CW 3000 was installed along with new silicon tubing and the chiller alarm cable was also replaced.
The engineer then moved onto the replacing of the laser tube. The power from the old 80 watt tube and was measured from the nozzle and was producing 40w @ 75% power, showing 25mA on the onboard ammeter. The new 80watt Reci Laser Tube was installed and the machine re-aligned with the new tube.
The laser power was checked at the output of the nozzle and it was measuring at 79.2 watts @75% 25mA.
The bed level was measured and was found to be sloping to one side. The bed was leveled and check in all 4 corners and centrally. TheKing Edward’s Witley School fume extractor filter were checked and although dated, the function and life of the filters was still good.
