Laser Machine Repair near Eastbourne, on a 4060 Thinklaser Lightblade Machines – Gildredge House School
A visit to a customer, Gildredge House School was required as the customer had reported that the machine was giving a “Machine Protected” error message. The repair was conducted by our service engineer ‘Gavin Edwards’: –
Before arriving on site, a preliminary call to discuss the issue was first had, to better diagnose the potential issue. Following these initial discussions the fault was narrowed down to the main door interlock not engaging with the interlock key attached to the lid.
Upon arrival at Gildredge House School the machines was visually inspected and the interlock was inspected. This inspection found the interlock was loose. Upon attempting to tighten the screws it was also found that the mounting holes were slightly stripped of their thread. Since no interaction is normally required by the customer on these interlocks, it was deemed to be have happened in the manufacturing of the machine, and the possibly slight mis-alignment of the key to the interlock, causing the damage. The unit was repaired under warranty.
The holes were re-tapped, thread lock applied. Finally the screws were secured with nuts to prevent this fault from re-occurring on this machine. The remainder of the machine was tested and the remainder of the machine was fully functional.
