Laser Machine Relocation near Oxsted, Thinklaser Lightblade’s 3040 60 watts – Hazelwood School
A visit to a customer, Hazelwood School was required as the customer had a new D&T department installed at their site and had requested assistance in the relocation of their laser machine. The laser relocation was conducted by our service engineer ‘Gavin Edwards’. The visit included: –
Thinklaser Lightblade 3040 60 watt
Upon arrival at Hazelwood School the flatbed machine was visually inspected. The machine was visually in good condition. Before decommissioning of the laser machine, the machine was given a thorough check-over to ensure that it was working properly before any movement was undertaken. The machine and the beam alignment were all working and within tolerances. The machine was then decommissioned. In order to decommission a laser machine in preparation for any movement the following needs to be carried out to avoid any potential damage to delicate items whilst the physical movement of the machine is carried out: –
- Drain the cooling water from the laser tube
- Disconnect and secure the internal hoses off the laser tube
- Remove the laser tube from the machine
- Disconnect all the external pipe and connections from the machine
- Secure all movable doors and covers
The machine can now be safely relocated. Depending on where you are moving a laser machine to within your facility, there are other items that we might suggest would make any relocation of the laser machine easier to manage. If you are moving the machine through any narrow doorways, then on the Lightblade machines, it is possible to remove the legs off the machine. If you are requiring to manual handle the machine, we may suggest to remove the all the side doors and covers, as this will significantly reduce the overall weight of the machine.
In the case of Hazelwood School the laser machine had to be moved down some stairs. However with this Lightblade 3040 not weighing too much, removing the covers was not required. The laser machine relocation was successful and the machine retested at the machines new location
