HPC Laser Service near Milton Keynes, Radcliffe School
The visit to our new customer, The Radcliffe School was requested as the customers HPC Laser machine was in need of a service. The laser service visit was conducted by our highly experienced laser service engineer ‘Gavin Edwards’, the machine service visit included: –
HPC LaserScript 6090 90 watt
Upon arrival at The Radcliffe School the machine was visually inspected. The machine was in good condition. The initial item always carried out on our laser service visits is to test the output power of the machine from the exit aperture of the laser head. In this case the laser power was shown to measure 70 @80% power. There was no milliammeter fitted to this machine.
All the mirrors were inspected and cleaned. The 2″ focusing lens was found to be installed upside down, this was re-installed in the correct orientation along with a new O’ring. The focusing lens did have a small scratch but was found to be not effecting performance. Due to this correction the focal length was shifted to the new optical layout.
The remainder of the service items were carried out with no major issues: –
- Electrical Systems – Health Check, Fit & Function
- Safety Interlocks & Emergency Stop- Health Check, Fit & Function
- Air Assist Pump – Function
- Chiller Check – Health Check, Fit & Function
- Chiller Drain, Flush and Water Replacement
- Full Bed Leveling – Adjustment and Check
- Inspect, Clean and Lubricate all Linear/Guide Rails
- Tension Check on All Drive Belts
- Full Laser Alignment Check
- Laser Tube Health Check
- Power Check @ Laser Tube & Laser Nozzle
- Check overall machine function by Test Cutting Customer Materials
Once all the checks had been carried out and the last test run on production material the laser power was measured again. This time the laser power was shown to be reading 75.4w @70% power.
