The visit to our new customer Lisa, the visit was requested as he Glowforge Pro unit was not able to cut her 3mm acrylic. This service was conducted by our highly experienced service engineer ‘Gavin Edwards’. The laser service visit includes: –
Glowforge Pro
The engineer arrived on site and commenced the laser service. The Glowforge machine was visually inspected and the unit was found to be heavily contaminated with dust and debris from prior material use.
The machine was given a thorough clean inside and out. This included the laser tube, the chassis and the bed area. The rear extractor fan was cleaned and degunked as this was heavily contaminated with dust and wood residue. The lid and the camera lid were also cleaned, along with the 2 focusing cameras.
Once the deep clean has been completed the internals of the machine could now be serviced also.
The laser head was removed and a thorough deep clean was conducted.
The main lens was removed and inspected. It was found to be dirty but cleanable. The lens was cleaned and reinstalled.
The X axis gantry carriage and air assist fan were removed and given a complete deep clean and then reinstalled.
The laser rails and rollers were checked and clean, and the condition of the belts inspected.
The internal cooling water was topped up to the recommended level. The laser beam and optical path were tested and confirmed to be in good condition and aligned to the main head. The laser power was measured at the output and was shown to be 39w.
The customer tested the machine following the completion of her Glowforge laser service and she was very happy that the machine was now fully operational again and that she was able to utilise her machine to it’s full capacity again.
At the end of the laser service, Lisa was shown the best maintenance procedures and basic training of the upkeep of the laser machine was demonstrated.
