Boxford Laser Service near Croydon, BGL460 80 watts – Trinity School
A visit to a new customer, Trinity School. The customer had requested a service visit as they had acquired the Boxford machine from the Old Palace of John Whitgift school, as this had closed down laser year. The laser service was conducted by our highly experienced service engineer ‘Gavin Edwards’. The laser service visit included: –
Boxford BGL460 80 watt
Upon arrival at the Trinity School the flatbed machine was visually inspected. The machine was in generally good condition, the unit had been connected to the school industrial extraction system.
The mirrors and main focusing lens were inspected. The mirrors were ok, but the focusing lens was quiet dirty. However this was able to be cleaned. Before reinstating into the nozzle assembly this was also cleaned as it was very contaminated.

The remaining items of a service were carried out with no issues: –
- Inspect, Clean and Lubricate all Linear/Guide Rails
- Auto Focus Pen Inspection & Clean
- Deep Clean of system
- Drained, flushed and refilled Chiller unit
- Honey Comb Bed Inspection & Bed Leveling off by 1mm in the right corner
- Electronics Inspection
- Fan Filters cleaned
- Safety Interlocks Inspection & Test
- Full Laser Alignment Check
- Laser Tube Health Check
The beam alignment was tested and adjusted slightly. The laser power was measured at the exit aperture of the laser nozzle and was shown to be measuring 78.9w @70%. No ammeters are fitted to these types of machines. The customer was happy with the service provided.

The customer showed us some of their work that the students had been completing and shared one with us.
