Alpha Laser Service near Northampton, ATS 1390 – 100 watt – ProBox Systems Ltd
A visit to our customer, ProBox Systems Ltd was requested by the customer had opted for a 6 month service on their Chinese flatbed laser cutting machine as an uptake had meant that the machine was getting more use. We highly recommend an annual laser service, however if you find that the machine is being utilised a significant amount then we would recommend a 6 month service regime for all our customers, so to keep their machine performing and to prevent any unwanted failures. The laser service was conducted by our highly experience laser machine service engineer ‘Gavin Edwards’. The service visit included: –
Alpha CNC ATS 1390 – 100 Watt
Upon arrival at ProBox Systems Ltd, the machine was visually inspected. The red pointer lens on the nozzle assembly was found to be damaged. This was preventing the light from passing through properly and producing a line as per the customer requirements. The damaged lens was removed so the customer was able to utilise the normal red dot to align their jobs with. A replacement would need to be sourced in order to restore the ‘line’ arrangement.

The rest of the machine looked to be in good condition, so the service was started.
The main focusing lens was found to be contaminated, however upon cleaning of the focusing lens it was removed. There was still a slight blemish on the lens, but this was shown to not effect effect cutting or engraving performance. The customer was advised to ensure that the air assist is switched on during processing as this aids in the clearing of debris from the nozzle and reduces the rish of focusing lens contamination.

The remaining items on the laser service were carried out on the machine without issues, including: –
- Inspect and Clean All Mirrors
- Inspected and Cleaned the laser nozzle
- Water Cooling Chiller Inspection, Clean, Drain & Refill

- Checked all Belts and Pulleys for wear and tension
- X and Y step length calibration

The laser alignment was tested and adjusted to be optimum for this machine type. The laser power was then measured from the exit aperture of the nozzle. The laser power was shown to measure 84.9w @25mA 84%.
After the laser machine service was concluded, the machine was tested by running multiple test to verify functionality and performance. The customer was happy with the results of the service.
