GCC Laser Troubleshooting
Solve common issues fast with GCC troubleshooting. Use the guides below to restore power, fix banding, and improve consistency before you book a visit.
Quick checks for GCC Laser Troubleshooting
- Airflow: is air-assist on, clear and correctly routed?
- Optics: check lens and mirrors for contamination or damage
- Alignment: run a simple corner test and note offsets
- Materials: use known-good stock to remove variables
- Focus: verify focus tool and Z calibration

GCC Fault finding Symptoms and guides
Weak cutting or poor engraving
- Clean/inspect lens, then mirrors, replace as necessary
- Confirm air-assist pressure and nozzle clearance
- Check alignment; confirm exhaust flow
Banding or inconsistent lines
- Inspect belts and bearings for wear
- Check stepper couplings and grub screws
- Verify table flatness and material hold-down
No laser fire
- Check Interlocks and E-stop state
- Check cooling water is flowing and the signal from the water flow sensor
- Check for damage to the laser
- Test with different file/material
- Escalate for electrical checks
Smell and too much Smoke in work area
- Check extraction unit is switched on and connected
- Ensure LEV testing is up-to-date according to HSE LEV Guidlines
- Ensure filters are not blocked or full
Parts and consumables
Many issues start with contaminated optics. Consider fresh GCC lenses or GCC mirrors when cleaning no longer helps.
When to escalate
If basic steps fail or safety systems are involved, book a diagnostic visit. Share photos and a short description of the fault to speed triage.
