The component is a small filter housing used in the specialist applications and of high value. Due to the amount of information required on the part, the laser marking is combined with a rotary indexer to provide process capability. The rotary C drive is used to rotate the part to each position for laser marking.
A black mark is achieved by running the laser in CW mode where no material removal is the result. The rotary indexer is controlled by the laser marking software and rotates at each given position. It is not marking while rotating.
