Laser marking is used to place part number identification along with electrical operating information. The CE logo is included for European compliance. Laser marking of electrical casing presents some interesting challenges. For example, traditionally with red materials, it is difficult to achieve high levels of contrast when laser marking, due to the colour being in the same wavelength zone, but in this case the results are very clean. Very little heat absorption occurs around the laser marking area providing a nice sharp image. Multiple laser marking passes are used to build up the contrast levels.
